The electric pedal support ensures that every ride is enjoyable without you having to exert yourself.

Here we have put together everything you need to know about your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO: from optimal use to the correct settings and thorough care. We will show you step by step how to take perfect care of your e-bike so that you can enjoy it for a long time. Have fun browsing and enjoy your ride!

This Eovolt e-bike for adults was developed according to the requirements of the European standard EN 15194.

1. Lighting

Your EOVOLT e-bike comes with great LED lights at the front and back. These are directly connected to the on-board computer and automatically adjust to the ambient light. This means that they switch on and off automatically depending on the brightness. If you prefer to get the hang of it yourself, you can also easily control the lighting via the LCD screen.

2. Bell

There is a practical bell on the handlebars of your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO. It ensures that you can be heard from up to 50 meters away. To activate it, simply press the button on the top of the bell. A short press is enough to attract attention - perfect for anyone who wants to be safe on the road.

3. Tires

The tires on your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO are designed for maximum stability and offer effective puncture protection. This means you are well equipped, no matter where you are going. In addition, reflective strips are attached to the tires, which give you more visibility and safety in everyday life.
For optimal ride comfort and performance, keep your tire pressure between 2.5 and 3.5 bar . The ideal pressure is always indicated on the side of the tire - check there to make sure you have the right setting.
Your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO is equipped with powerful hydraulic disc brakes that have a diameter of 160 mm.
For the EU version: The right lever operates the rear brake, the left lever operates the front brake.
For the UK version: The left lever is for the rear brake, the right lever is for the front brake.

For best braking performance, you should ideally split the braking force 60/40 between the front and rear wheels. Make sure you can achieve maximum braking force without the brake levers touching the grips - if this is not the case, your brakes may need to be adjusted.

The hydraulic disc brakes work with a closed brake fluid circuit. Make sure that dust or mud does not impair the braking effect. If you need to replace the brake pads, please use organic pads with the same dimensions.

Warning: When it rains, braking distances increase and the brake discs can become hot and sharp. Avoid direct contact with the discs.

Danger – Hydraulic Fluid: Be sure to follow the precautions recommended by the brake manufacturer when handling brake fluid.

5. Gear shift

With the gear shift on your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO, you can easily adapt your effort to the road conditions or your desired speed. The gear shift works automatically because it is directly integrated with the motor in the rear wheel hub.

There are two speeds available and the gear changes automatically at 22 km/h, so you can concentrate fully on your ride without having to constantly change gear manually.

6. Belt drive

Your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO is equipped with the first-class Gates CDN® belt drive, which is made of high-strength carbon. Carbon, known from motorsport and aviation for its exceptional strength and lightness, makes this belt not only extremely durable, but also easy to maintain.

The Gates CDN® belt drive is virtually maintenance-free, resistant to wear and extremely durable. With it, you don't have to worry about constant maintenance or frequent replacement parts. However, check the condition of the belt regularly - look for cracks, breaks or unusual jerking when pedaling. If you notice any wear, just contact us, the TWENTY iNCH FACTORY.

7. Wheels and engine

Your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO is equipped with a powerful BAFANG® dual speed hub motor (36V, 250W, 45Nm, equivalent to approx. 85Nm bottom bracket motor). This motor delivers an impressive torque of 45 Nm. When you start the motor, you may hear a slight noise - this is completely normal and indicates that the motor is starting and assisting you in pedaling. When fully loaded, the noise may become a little louder.

For comparison, the engine noise is less than 70 dB, which is about the same as a normal conversation or a quiet office. This means you can hear your surroundings well while driving. However, if the engine is unusually loud, please have it diagnosed by a professional.

To optimize the performance of the motor, we recommend tightening the spokes after the first month of use. This will help minimize the impact of the motor drive on the rear wheel.

8. Electric support

The electric support of your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO is activated by a torque sensor on the bottom bracket. As soon as you pedal, the sensor senses the torque and sends the information to the controller, which then fires up the motor in the rear wheel hub.

The motor offers you 5 levels of support:

Level 0: No support

Level 1: 20% more engine power

Level 2: 40% more engine power

Level 3: 60% more engine power

Level 4: 80% more engine power

Level 5: 100% more engine power

To connect the battery, simply plug the battery connector into the port on the bike. This way you can enjoy the electric support. To remove the connector, simply press on the back - it's that easy!

The lithium battery from SAMSUNG is the powerhouse of your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO. It is elegantly hidden in the seat post and is completely removable to give you maximum flexibility.

Here are the impressive details about the battery:

  • Capacity: 360Wh – enough juice for long journeys

Now everything fits perfectly and you can start feeling comfortable!

1.2 Adjusting the handlebar height

The height of your handlebars has a big impact on how you sit on your e-bike and how comfortable the ride is. A lower handlebar gives you a sportier posture but can also be less comfortable, while a higher handlebar makes the ride more relaxed.

The steering height can be adjusted to three predefined positions:

  • Lowest position: Without spacers
  • Intermediate position: With 38 mm spacer
  • Upper position: With 75 mm spacer

How to adjust the handlebar height:

  1. Folding the handlebars: Fold the handlebars down.
  2. Loosen the screws: Loosen the two screws on the clamp.
  3. Disconnect spacers: Pull out the top of the handlebar until you can separate the spacers.
  4. Insert spacers: Select the appropriate spacer for the desired height and insert it. Alternatively, you can use the lowest position without spacers.
  5. Push the handlebars back: Push the upper part of the handlebars back until the spacers are pressed against the clamp.
  6. Tighten the clamp: Tighten the clamp screws again.
  7. Fold up the handlebars: Fold the handlebars back up.

Note: The lowest position is the only configuration where you can ride without spacers. If you have difficulty installing the spacers correctly, please contact your dealer.

For an optimal adjustment of your riding position, refer to the following table:

1.3 Adjusting the brakes

To ensure your brakes work perfectly, you need to break them in properly. This means: brake gently and evenly with both brakes to gradually improve the braking effect. When driving downhill, brake abruptly rather than holding the brake for a long time. Otherwise, the brake pads can overheat and lose their effectiveness.

If you hear a squeaking noise, it could be a sign that your brake pads are dirty or that the break-in process was not done properly. In this case, the brake pads may need to be replaced.

A few important notes:

  • Be careful with hot brake discs: The brake discs can get very hot and have sharp edges. Do not touch them after braking to avoid injury. Also be careful to avoid being crushed by the discs or pads.
  • Free of oil or grease: Your braking system should be completely free of oil or grease. Dust that accumulates in the brake pads can impair the braking effect. Clean the brake pads with suitable agents if necessary.
  • Regular inspection: Check every time you ride that your braking system is working properly. If you notice cracks or deformations on the brake disc, stop using the bike and contact your bike dealer. If the braking power decreases, the braking system should be checked for leaks.

Important note: All work on the braking system should be carried out by a specialist, otherwise the warranty will be void.

If the lining of the brake pads is less than 1 mm thick, you should have the brake pads replaced. The lining is the softer part of the brake pad and is important for safe braking performance.

1.4 Installing the pedals

Step 1: To ensure the pedals fit properly, apply some assembly grease to the pedal threads. This will help ensure smooth screwing in and out and will protect against corrosion.

Step 2: Take the right pedal (the one marked “R” and has no grooves) and screw it clockwise onto the right crank, which is on the side of the chainring.

Step 3: For the left pedal (which has the “L” marking and grooves), screw it counterclockwise onto the left crank.

Step 4: Tighten the pedals with a torque of 30 Nm. This ensures that they are secure and do not wobble.

Voilà! Your pedals are now mounted and ready for your next ride.

1.5 Handlebar

The handlebars on your EOVOLT are specifically designed for their respective configuration and are not intended for use with extensions. To ensure that everything works perfectly and that you are safe on the road, please do not use additional handlebar extensions. Your handlebars are designed to give you the best driving stability and control - without any additional modifications.

1.6 Belt

Before working with the belt, always remember to disconnect the battery. The Carbon Drive 118T CDN belt is the heart of your EOVOLT and its tension is crucial for a smooth ride.

The belt tension is adjusted on the bottom bracket shell. The bottom bracket spindle sits in an eccentric mount, which allows you to adjust the tension. The ideal belt tension is 40 Hz (plus/minus 5 Hz).

By checking and adjusting regularly, you can ensure that your belt always runs optimally and your EOVOLT stays in top shape.

1.7 Tightening torque

To ensure that everything is secure and tight, pay attention to the following torques when tightening the parts:

  • Cranks: 40 Nm
  • Bottom bracket shell: 40 Nm
  • Wheels: 30 Nm
  • Stem on the fork: 24 Nm
  • Saddle attachment:
  • Insert 4 mm: 6 Nm
  • Insert 5 mm: 24 Nm
  • Brake calipers and caliper brackets: 14 Nm
  • Clamp on the cockpit: 6 Nm
  • Stand: 14 Nm

These values ensure that everything fits perfectly and you are safe on the road. Make sure that you check and tighten the screws regularly to ensure the safety and performance of your EOVOLT.

2. Folding and unfolding (folding and unfolding, folding and unfolding)

2.1 Folding the EOVOLT Afternoon PRO:

  • Step 1: Fold or unfold the frame:
Pull the "Loop System" tab on the frame folding lever and fold the bike; do the same when unfolding it. It's really easy, I promise.

  • Step 2: Fold or unfold the handlebar stem:
Unlock the stem's folding mechanism by also pulling on the "Loop System" tab and carefully fold the stem together. Almost like a magic trick, right?

  • Step 3: Seat post and pedals
Loosen the seat clamp and slowly push the seat post to the ground. Then tighten the clamp again. You fold the pedals in by simply pressing on them and turning them over - simple and ingenious.

  • Step 4: Fold & Go
Pull the seat post back up and you can push your folded bike forward effortlessly. Voilà

2.2 Safety when folding (collapsing)

  • When unfolding, be careful not to catch your fingers in the levers. If you notice any unusual play or damaged parts on the hinges, please let us know.
  • The levers lock automatically when you unfold the bike. Check that all levers are firmly engaged to ensure everything is secure.

2.3 Drawbar failure

  • If the drawbar breaks or snaps off, there is a safety system that unlocks the lever. Contact us!

2.4 Folding and unfolding the stand

  • To fold and unfold the stand you must be on the left side of the bike.
  • To unfold the stand: Press the plate at the end of the stand with your foot. Hold the stand firmly on the ground and tilt the bike backwards.
  • Folding the stand: Place your foot on the front of the stand and tilt the bike forward, lifting it up.

3. Before every trip

Now it's time to try out your EOVOLT for the first time! Here are a few tips to ensure your first outing is safe and enjoyable:

  1. Find a safe place: Find a place away from traffic to get familiar with the bike.
  2. Safety first: The electric assistance can be more powerful than you might expect, so it's a good idea to wear protective clothing. A helmet is especially important and mandatory for children under 12. Make sure your helmet meets CE standards and fits well.
  3. Respect the rules: When travelling on public roads, please respect the traffic regulations in your country. Lion Distribution SAS accepts no responsibility if you violate the regulations in force.
  4. City and not off-road: Your EOVOLT is designed for urban roads and not for difficult terrain or "off-roading". Make sure you stay on flat and safe paths.
  5. Be careful with children and weather conditions: When a child is using the bike, parents must always pay attention and make sure that he or she can ride safely. In unusual weather conditions such as rain, cold or darkness, you should be especially careful and adjust your speed.
  6. Transporting the battery: If you transport your bike outside your vehicle (for example on a bike rack), remove the battery and store it in a temperature-controlled place.
  7. Gradual habituation: Start with the pedal assistance on level 0 or 1 while standing still and gradually increase the assistance. Do not push the bike when the pedal assistance is switched on.
  8. Pay attention to reaction time: Pay attention to the reaction time of the handlebars when braking and cornering. It is important that you get used to your bike and handle it safely.

Have fun and safe travels!

4. Luggage rack

Only EOVOLT luggage racks are suitable for your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO. Take a good look at the product before installation and contact us if you have any questions.

If the luggage rack is loaded, the handling of your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO may change and the braking distance may be longer. Adjust your handling accordingly. Luggage should only be transported on the luggage rack and make sure that the load is well distributed and stable. Also make sure that the load does not impair the visibility and effect of the reflectors and lights. The luggage racks are not suitable for trailers.

Make sure that no straps, belts or tensioners are hanging down on the EOVOLT Afternoon PRO. Since the luggage rack is already mounted, no larger wheels and tires than those fitted as standard can be used.

  • Front luggage rack: Maximum load is 10 kg. The attachment points can be found on the sides of the steering tube.
  • Rear luggage rack: Maximum load is 25 kg. You can find this information on the luggage rack itself. Do not exceed the load weight. Please note that it is not permitted to mount a child seat on a luggage rack with a load capacity of less than 27 kg.

Take a close look at the luggage rack assembly instructions. If you have any questions, you can contact us directly.

PRECAUTIONS AND CARE

1. Precautionary measure

  • As with any mechanical component, your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO is subjected to high levels of stress and wears out over time. Different materials and components react differently to wear and material fatigue.
  • When a component reaches the end of its life, it can suddenly break, causing injury. So look for cracks, scratches and discoloration in high-wear areas - these are signs that the component may need to be replaced.
  • If you are unsure, just contact us. We will be happy to help you and carry out a comprehensive diagnosis of your EOVOLT.

1.1 Battery precautions

  • Always check beforehand whether the battery is correctly attached to the EOVOLT Afternoon PRO – nothing should wobble!
  • The charging cap must sit correctly on the battery. This is the only way to keep everything dry and protected.
  • Avoid leaving the battery in direct sunlight – both when driving and when storing.
  • Handle the battery with care! A fall can lead to leakage of liquid or, in the worst case, an infection.
  • Do not apply pressure to the charger cable or plug to avoid hazards such as electric shock or fire.
  • When charging, first plug the charger into the wall socket, then connect it to the EOVOLT.
  • Wet hands and plugs don't mix well - so always stay dry.
  • Batteries and chargers should not be kept near children or animals.
  • The plug and socket should always be clean and dust-free – this ensures a secure connection!

1.2 Precautions regarding the charger

  • Do not be tempted to open the charger – there is high voltage inside!
  • It is best to charge your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO indoors – the charger feels most comfortable there.
  • No experiments: The charger is only intended for the battery, not for normal batteries.
  • It never hurts to take a look at the information on the back of the charger – everything important is there.
  • If you have problems with the charger? Don't do things by halves, just contact us or the manufacturer.
  • The charger is not intended for use by children or persons with reduced abilities unless they are supervised.
  • Make sure that children do not use the charger as a toy.
  • To ensure that you are safe on the road and there is no risk of fire or electric shock, please note the following:
  • If the plug does not fit the socket, use a suitable adapter. Never force it in!
  • Is the power cable broken? Be sure to have it replaced – it’s safer.
  • Electrical devices do not belong in the household waste! Look for collection points so that the environment does not suffer.
  • Your local authority knows where you can safely dispose of old electrical appliances.
  • If e-waste ends up in landfills, dangerous substances can get into the groundwater – so it’s better to dispose of it properly!

2. Care

  • Let us check your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO regularly - this way everything stays safe and the parts are in top shape. But that doesn't mean you can skip the daily checks before every ride!
  • Before you start working on your bike yourself, take the battery out! If there are any electronic problems, come to us or a specialist straight away. Keep your hands off the electrical system - a professional should get to it, otherwise you'll have trouble with the warranty!

2.1 Daily check

Before you start using your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO, quickly check these points:

  • Tires: Check that the air pressure is correct and that there are no cracks or other damage.
  • Brakes: Are the brakes working properly and are they clean? Check for wear too!
  • Stem and seat clamp: Both should be tight.
  • Lighting: Clean, functional and without cracks – your lights must be fit!
  • Rims: The rim should be undamaged and clean. Discoloration, scratches or wear can have serious consequences if the rim suddenly breaks.
  • Frame lock: Check whether the frame lock is properly engaged.
  • Wheels: Are the wheels secure?
  • Steering play: Hold the front wheel firmly and move the handlebars slightly back and forth. If something wobbles, take it to a specialist for the correct adjustment.
  • Frame and fork: You should check the frame and fork for cracks, especially after a collision or accident. After a serious crash, be sure to have a professional take a look.

2.2 Battery care

There are a few tricks to ensure your battery lasts a long time:

  • Charge regularly: Even if your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO takes a break, charge the battery at least once a month. This way you avoid deep discharge, which can damage cells and drain your battery.
  • Correct charging sequence: First plug the charger into the socket, then connect the battery. When unplugging, first pull out the power plug and then the battery. This will minimize the risk of arcing.
  • Storage: Store the battery in a cool, dry place, ideally at around 30% charge if it is not going to be used for a long time. The battery does not like large temperature fluctuations - so no sauna for your battery!
  • On the bike: Don't forget to remove the battery from the e-bike when not in use. The control unit always draws a little power.
  • Charging environment: Only charge the battery at room temperatures between 0 °C and 45 °C and always away from flammable materials. Do not cover the charger and never charge it in direct sunlight - the battery needs air!
  • Handling: Always keep the battery clean and dry. When cleaning, remove the battery from the bike and pull the charging cable on the plug, not the cable.
  • Be careful when using the device: wait a while before charging immediately after a ride. If the battery becomes unusually hot during charging, unplug it immediately and carefully remove the battery and charger.
  • Protection against damage: Make sure that no metal objects touch the contacts and only use the original charger. Do not disassemble the battery - this will void the warranty.
  • Discharge and storage: Never fully discharge the battery. If storing for more than two weeks, always charge it with around 30% charge. It ages faster at temperatures above 30°C and does not like frost.
  • Usage temperatures: Maximum 45 °C when driving, and always switch off the engine when you take a break or when the battery is almost empty - this protects against deep discharge.
  • Recycling: Please do not throw old batteries or chargers into the household waste, but recycle them – for the sake of the environment!

2.3 Spare parts and accessories

If something breaks and you need replacement parts, it's best to use original parts - they are perfectly tailored to your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO and guarantee the best quality and accuracy of fit. Replacement parts should always be installed by an authorized technician to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Tips for the exchange:

Check compatibility: Simply ask an authorized technician whether the parts you have in mind are compatible. This way you can avoid unpleasant surprises.

Tires and air chamber:

  • EOVOLT Morning: 16 x 2.15
  • EOVOLT Afternoon: 20 x 2.15

Brake pads:

Avid Elixir/Sram XX-x0 DB Organic: They are perfect for the job.

If you are unsure or have any questions, just contact us. We will be happy to help you so that you and your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO are always safe on the road!

2.4 Cleaning

Your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO needs a little wellness treatment every now and then, but please be careful! You must avoid high-pressure cleaners, powerful water jets and chemical cleaning agents, especially on the electrical parts.

Here's how:

Remove the battery: Always remove the battery before using water.

Clean gently: Simply use soapy water and a soft sponge or gentle water jet to clean your EOVOLT. Avoid aggressive cleaning products that could damage your bike.

Drying: Let your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO dry thoroughly before reinserting the battery. This will prevent corrosion and other damage to the contacts.

Maintain connections: If necessary, clean the electrical connections with contact cleaner so that everything shines and works well again.

And your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO will shine in all its glory again!

3. Guarantee

IMPORTANT - Do not confuse maintenance and warranty. Maintenance and adjustment revisions are not included in the warranty. Keep your invoice or receipt with the date of purchase (only with these documents can you make a claim under the warranty).

3.1 Duration of the guarantee

You can rely on a solid guarantee for your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO! There is a 5-year guarantee for the frame and fork. The motor, battery, control unit and display are covered for 2 years.

But be careful: Wear parts are excluded from the guarantee, these include:

Tires

Hydraulic and lubricating oils

Brake pads

Timing belt

Handle coatings

Paints

Shift and brake cables

Ball and plain bearings

Would you like a warranty extension?

No problem! If you register your EOVOLT, you even get a free warranty extension for the frame and fork to a total of 10 years! The warranty for the motor, battery, control unit and display remains at 2 years.

How it works:

Simply scan the QR code on your bike and fill out the form.

Have your EOVOLT and the purchase invoice ready – you will need these for registration.

This registration is possible at any time and helps us to identify your bike more quickly if you need support.

This way you are well protected and your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO will remain a loyal companion for a long time!

3.2 Conditions for the guarantee

The warranty for your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO starts from the date of purchase. If you want to make a warranty claim, you must be able to present the invoice with the date of purchase.

Important to know:

You cannot cancel the purchase, exchange the bike for a new one or reduce the price as long as the seller can remedy the defect.

A repair does not extend the warranty period.

Please note:

Your EOVOLT Afternoon PRO is not suitable for use in sand, in water (motor, battery, control unit and display), or in salty environments such as the beach or sea.

Longer storage outdoors is also not ideal (maximum 12 hours). It is best to park it in a dry, frost-free room, far away from corrosive substances such as sea salts, weed killers, acids and solvents.

The EOVOLT Afternoon PRO is not designed for uneven terrain such as forests or dirt roads.

This way, your EOVOLT stays in top shape and ensures long-lasting driving pleasure!

3.3 General limitation of warranty

The warranty is transferable upon resale. The terms are valid from the date of the original purchase of the bike by the first purchaser. A second purchaser must be able to provide proof of purchase from the original purchaser.

The warranty is void if the operating and maintenance instructions and all other instructions in the owner's manual have not been followed. The warranty only applies to normal use (not rental or other commercial use) and does not cover damage caused by misuse (e.g. by two people at the same time, overloading, jumping), failure to observe precautions or accidents.

The warranty does not cover damage to parts with visible signs of impact due to a cause independent of the quality of the bicycle (accident, impact, fall, etc.).

The warranty does not cover damage caused by repairs or modifications carried out by an unauthorized user or technician. Modifications to any part of the bicycle (frame and/or component, including paintwork) can result in serious injury.

The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper maintenance.

The guarantee does not apply to wearing parts:

- Tires

- Hydraulic and lubricating oils

- Brake pads

- Timing belt

- Handle coatings

- Varnishes

- Shift and brake cables

- Battery

- Ball and plain bearings

The warranty does not apply to vehicles that have been derestricted. A bicycle is considered derestricted if its motor delivers more than 250 W and the electric assistance is not switched off at 25 km/h.

Risks when derestricting:

- Legal risks: Observe the road traffic regulations applicable in the country of use

- Premature wear of the bottom bracket

- Premature wear of the wheels

- Premature wear of the fork

- Ineffectiveness of the braking system

- Premature wear of the engine

- Premature wear of the battery

Technically unavoidable fluctuations in the consumption and performance of the battery as well as a loss of capacity in connection with the use of the product do not constitute a material defect.

3.4 Limitation of the Battery Warranty

The battery is excluded from the warranty if:

- The battery is discolored.

- The battery casing is damaged.

- The battery is open.

- Signs indicate that the battery has been opened.

4. Inspection booklet

A first inspection is required after one month of use or 150 km. This inspection allows you to refine the settings and tensions of your bike.

The second inspection should be carried out approximately after 6 months or 1000 km. This allows a first overview of your bike and the wear and tear of consumables. We recommend having an inspection carried out at least every year or every 2000 km thereafter. To carry out these checks, contact TWENTY iNCH FACTORY or an authorized technician.
